Whenever Liam Martin and Cameron Munster are on the same rugby league field, drama is sure to follow. It’ll all happen again at Suncorp Stadium in the Origin series opener next Wednesday. They say they drive each other mad, but surely they both take some form out of enjoyment out of it as well.

There was every reason for this game to be a bit of a punish to watch. Rainy night, slippery surface and Origin players missing, but it’s turning out to be anything but. Both teams are showing enterprise, but the Dolphins have just shaded them so far and deserve their lead. If they can score first in the second half, they’ll be well on the way to an upset win. Dolphins lead Bulldogs 14-8 after 40 minutes

Bulldgos centre Bronson Xerri decided an intercept was on, but Dolphins No.7 Katoa was too smart and a try resulted. Jack Bostock had a bit to do, but most of the credit should go to Katoa for his work earlier in the play. Dolphins lead 14-8 after 39 minutes
Lipoi Hopoi now has an NRL try and the scores are level. His effer initially went up a no-try but a video review showed it was all OK. The Dogs needed that. 8-8 after 32 minutes
The visitors lead by six points after a penalty goal kicked by Jamayne Isaako. The visitors deserve every bit of their advantage. Dolphins lead 8-2 after 29 minutes
