The rivalry between brothers Jett and Hunter Lawrence hit a new peak during Motocross’s Round 4 at High Point Raceway this weekend, with Hunter breaking his brother’s recent winning streak.
Though Hunter Lawrence defeated his brother in both races on Saturday, Jett still narrowly holds the first place spot in overall points, just two points ahead of his brother.
Overall, Hunter Lawrence placed first, Jett Lawrence second and new 450SX rider Haiden Deegan third with the combination of the points from both of Saturday’s races.
There is no recent update on Eli Tomac’s condition or when he is set to return to racing. Tomac’s crash in Round 1 resulted in a minor neck injury, and Tomac said he would follow his doctor’s advice and take some time away from racing to recuperate, with the goal of returning sometime this season.
In the first Moto at High Point, Hunter Lawrence claimed the hole shot, followed by Tomac’s teammate Jorge Prado and Yamaha’s Cooper Webb. Deegan started in fifth and Jett Lawrence in 11th.
Prado and Webb battled for second while RJ Hampshire and Jett Lawrence, racing in fourth and fifth, moved closer to Prado. Jett passed Hampshire for fourth, while Prado passed Webb for second.
Hampshire crashed as Jett Lawrence passed both Webb and Prado. Jett set his sights on his brother in first while Prado worked to remain as close to Jett as possible.
Jett Lawrence was unable to cut into Hunter Lawrence’s lead, with commentators saying, “No one was close to Hunter this moto.”
Hunter Lawrence placed first, Jett Lawrence second and Prado third.
In Moto 2, Hunter again claimed the hole shot, with Jett, Aaron Plessinger and Prado on his heels.
Jett Lawrence surged, and the brothers raced side by side. Jett attempted to pass and failed, allowing Hunter to lengthen his lead.
Prado and Plessinger fought for third, with Prado successfully taking the position. Not long later, Deegan passed Plessinger and Prado, moving into third behind the Aussies.
Hunter Lawrence placed first, Jett Lawrence second and Deegan third.
The next Motocross race of the 2026 season will be held Saturday, July 4, at Redbud MX in Buchanan, Michigan.
