Durham Restaurant Week returning with new venues in 2024

The popular event, starting on January 31 and running until February 7, has signed up eateries such as Fiik, Zaap Thai, Jozef’s Riverside Bar and Restaurant, and Café at The Quarter.

The founders, experienced in the hospitality and fine dining sector, aim to “shake up the ordinary dining scene.”

The restaurant will be offering a special four-course menu for £25, including dishes like Skrei cod with pickled green strawberries, winter greens, and Jerusalem artichoke cream, as well as beef tartare with coal oil, brioche, truffle, parmesan, and cured yolk.

Floor manager, Jess Noble, said: “Having recently opened our doors, Fiik is delighted to participate in our first Restaurant Week and welcome new customers to come and try out what we offer. Notch Durham   (Image: Supplied)

“We don’t take ourselves too seriously and we believe in having fun – while offering our guests a new experience in culinary creativity.”

In addition to the new restaurants, popular venues like Fat Hippo, Faru, Coarse, Isla by Coarse, Tapas Factory, and Rio Brazilian Steakhouse are also taking part.

Paul Howard, Durham BID manager, said: “Restaurant Week is one of our most popular events where diners can experience the exceptional and diverse venues we have in the city. Spice Lounge    (Image: Supplied)

“While January and February are typically quieter months for hospitality businesses, Restaurant Week drives foodies to the city, boosting our local economy.”

Alongside the restaurants, Durham’s cafés will be offering deals including coffee and cake and soup and sandwich combinations for £5 and £10.
