Ken Roczen moves to within striking distance of the two leaders

Cortez native Eli Tomac and Hunter Lawrence left St. Louis tied atop the Supercross standings after Round 12 of the 2026 season, with Ken Roczen’s win in the main event moving him within striking distance of the leaders.

The main event, the culmination of a critical round on a brutal track, started with Jorge Prado grabbing the holeshot, but his lead didn’t last long – Roczen passed both Lawrence and Prado in one move after racing around the first corner. Tomac, who grew up racing in Southwest Colorado, started in sixth and moved to fifth before being passed by Cooper Webb.

“Comeback Kenny” earned his first back-to-back wins in five years, putting him only five points behind Tomac and Lawrence, who finished the night tied for the lead.

“It was a tougher day for us at St. Louis, but the good thing is that we didn’t lose too many points and we are still tied for the lead,” Tomac told Team KTM following the race. “I’m looking forward to the last five races, and doing what we can to get back up on top.”

Heat 1 started with Cooper taking the holeshot, with Shane McElrath and Webb in second and third. Webb moved to second as Joey Savatgy passed McElrath. Chase Sexton, who crashed around the first corner, recovered quickly to place third. Cooper placed first and Webb second.

In Heat 2, commentators noted Tomac’s self-proclaimed midseason slump, saying the past two weeks have been “a challenge” for the Cortez rider. Lawrence took the holeshot, with Justin Hill and Roczen following closely behind. Tomac ran in sixth.

Roczen charged into second before cruising past Lawrence for the lead. Roczen placed first, with Lawrence second, Malcolm Stewart third, Prado fourth and Tomac fifth.
