Hamish Macdonald announced as new ABC Radio Sydney Mornings host

Hamish Macdonald has been announced as the new ABC Radio Sydney Mornings host.

The journalist is set to step into the new role from Monday, replacing Sarah Macdonald.

He said there was “so much to talk about this year”, with no better place to do it than in Parramatta in Sydney’s west, according to the ABC.

“I hope listeners will be able to count on me to hold the pollies and the powerful to account, upholding the great traditions of 702,” Macdonald said.

“Sydney is such a dynamic city with no shortage of great stories to share, so I’m really looking forward to opening the phone lines.”

Macdonald told The Guardian he had “big shoes to fill” as he paid tribute to former host Sarah Macdonald, who in November told listeners her contract wasn’t renewed.

“Well, here’s the news from me in terms of disappointment,” she said.

“I’m not going to be on the radio with you next year, the ABC has decided not to renew my contract here at Mornings.”

She said she was proud of everything she’d achieved.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
