Australian actor Hugh Jackman and American actress Sutton Foster have remained largely silent amid growing whispers about their relationship.
But with speculation mounting over claims of infidelity during their previous marriages, the pair have now decided to set the record straight.
Sources close to the Broadway powerhouse couple told Life & Style that the romance happened “quickly”, but were adamant that a salacious cheating scandal was not what occurred.
Jackman, 56, was married to Deborra-Lee Furness, 69, for 27 years.
While Foster, 50, was with her husband Ted Griffin, 54, for a decade before she and Jackman were romantically linked.
“There’s no denying Hugh and Sutton’s romance happened very quickly,” an insider said, acknowledging the scrutiny the couple has faced since going public.
“There’s a lot of harsh judgment about them online,” noting that “now, there’s a sense they have something to prove,” they added.
The pair reportedly had limited communication while Jackman was filming overseas, which the insider described as a strain.
“Being apart for an extended period of time can be tough on any couple.”
“It’s always hard dating in the public eye,” the source continued.
“But when you add their whole backstory and what they’ve put on the line as far as their reputations, the pressure rises exponentially.”
Despite the challenges, the couple appears unfazed.
