Selections based on a good track.
8. Lighthouse Lass has been well educated for her debut with three trials for the Cassandra Stummer yard, her latest an eye-catching effort over 900m. She was entered for the Gimcrack Stakes as an early two-year old and has always shown good ability. She is drawn to get the run of the race and figures to be in the finish. Dangers: 5. Be Sharp and 7. Jasira come through the same trial at Scone behind Lighthouse Lass and have shown enough speed to be competitive on debut. 3. Comongin is next best for the Brett Robb stable on debut after a good trial win at Dubbo.

This looks a nice race for 3. Fuld’s Doubt to get another win on the board. She resumes after a dominant trial victory over 900m and was thought enough of last preparation to contest the Denise’s Joy (1100m) at listed level and a Tab Highway. She is drawn to get back in the run, but is well placed after the 3kg claim. Dangers: 5. Pride To Follow was deep ended first up over 1000m when not disgraced in city grade and was a good winner at both of her country starts prior to that. 4. Savoca and 1. Lizzie’s Gem can sneak into the minor money.
How to play it: Fuld’s Doubt to win.
3. Great Point struggled to finish off her race last start when tested in Tab Highway company for the first time over a mile. She drops back to 1400m and will find this much easier than what she contested last start, just has to overcome the wide draw. Dangers: 5. Taipan Legend broke through for a much-deserved win last start over 1600m at Dubbo, comes back to 1400m at his home track and maps to get the run of the race. 2. Hammoon Thunder is ready to peak now third up into his campaign and can figure in the placings, and 1. Bertie will run his usual honest race.
How to play it: Great Point to win.
4. Shadow Shot kept chipping away over 2300m last start when fourth behind Final Reset. Before that, he was a dominant winner over 2100m in benchmark 66 grade. Only has to reproduce his past two performances to figure in the finish again. Dangers: 5. Jack Of Aces will find this easier than provincial grade where he hasn’t been disgraced in his past couple. He maps to get a good run in transit and will have no issues at the 2200m. 3. Aiseirigh and 9. Yorikiri both have each-way claims.
How to play it: Shadow Shot each way.
