And we’re level again. The Roosters have been putting plenty of pressure on the Penrith back three, but the Panthers survived the latest raid and have now scored themselves, Cleary this time rolling in a perfect grubber for Dylan Edwards to pounce.

The Roosters have been much improved on last week’s effort – and they’re in front again almost immediately, James Tedesco finding space outside Penrith five-eighth Jack Cole on the Panthers’ 40-metre line and bursting clear, sending a pass inside for Connor Watson to score his second try of the night.

That’s more like it from the premiers. Nathan Cleary delivers a pinpoint bomb and Liam Henry is the man to take it, touching down between the posts to level things up once again. Neither team is able to grab full control of this one, and both teams will probably be happy to go into the half-time break with scores level.

Penrith’s big guns are trying to get their team back in this one – with Nathan Cleary going himself close to the line, then Isaah Yeo doing the same. That didn’t work so they sweep to the right instead, with Brian To’o showing some unusual finesse with a neat little grubber for himself down the sideline before touching down.

The Panthers are having their chances in attack but they’re not quite their usual sharp selves – Nathan Cleary running himself and being tackled on the last here, forcing youngster Jack Cole to put up the kick on the last. It’s a decent bomb but Dom Young has no problem defusing it for the Roosters, who immediately earn a penalty the next tackle. It’s too early to say Penrith are rattled – the Panthers don’t really get rattled – but the Roosters are very much looking up for this one.
Lindsay Smith has passed his HIA in one bit of positive news for Penrith.
