Aaron Bullock out to keep winning running going at Quirindi

A successful weekend, which included a Randwick victory on Country Championships Final winner Know Thyself, is set to continue at Quirindi on Tuesday when jockey Aaron Bullock takes up a strong book of six rides.

Bullock backed up the Randwick success with a victory at Port Macquarie on Sunday and he heads to Quirindi with a number of leading chances.

The day will start for Bullock when he partners the Peter Mills-trained Buckles And Bows in the Me
Brown Catering Country Boosted Maiden Plate (1200m). He follows that up with the mount on Nickers Boy for Steve Hodge in the QPP Maiden Handicap (1000m).

Bullock’s main chances appear to be Cashaway Gold for Angela Davies in the Pursehouse Rural Class 1 Handicap (1000m) and Perasta for Paul Perry in the Willow Tree Cup 31st May Maiden Plate (1450m).

Cashaway Gold was formerly trained by Gary Portelli and was lining up for Davies for the first time on the back of a solid Newcastle trial when scoring a dominant win at Port Macquarie by four and a half lengths on April 11.

Perasta has been placed in four of his 12 starts, and he wasn’t beaten far when fourth at Port Macquarie on March 11, before finishing third behind Divine Bene on the Beaumont track at Newcastle two weeks later.

Know Thyself co-trainers Paul Messara and Leah Gavranich will provide Bullock with the ride on Image Of The Sun in the Elders Killara Feedlot Benchmark 58 Handicap (1600m).

Image Of The Sun is a two-time winner with a further three placings to his name from 10 starts, and he’s had a trial at Scone since failing to fire at Tamworth when resuming from a spell.
