Jett Lawrence remains on top for Motocross Round 3 at Thunder Valley


Cortez’s Eli Tomac has not returned to racing following Round 1 crash

Jett Lawrence placed first in both Motocross races on Saturday at Thunder Valley in Lakewood. The 2025 450SX Motocross champion bested his brother Hunter Lawrence and Belgian racer Lucas Coenen to stand atop the podium again, remaining in first place for overall points. The third round marked Coenen’s U.S. debut.

Overall, Jett Lawrence placed first, Coenen second and Hunter Lawrence third for the day’s racing.

Cortez’s Eli Tomac, who crashed in Round 1, did not race in the Round 3 race. It is unclear when Tomac will return to racing.

In the first moto of the night, Jett Lawrence claimed the hole shot, with Cooper Webb and Hunter Lawrence not far behind. Haiden Deegan, the 2026 250SX Supercross champion and new 450SX racer, started in seventh.

As Hunter worked to get around Webb, Deegan moved to sixth and quickly passed fifth place Aaron Plessinger.

Hunter Lawrence and Deegan passed Webb in quick succession, with Deegan slotting into third and putting pressure on Hunter.

Jett made a mistake, allowing his brother to attempt a pass. He was unsuccessful, however, remaining at Jett’s heels.

Deegan passed Hunter Lawrence, setting his sights on Jett. Hunter raced close behind Deegan, waiting for an opening to pass. Deegan crashed around a corner, started racing again and crashed for a second time on the slick track. Hunter Lawrence and Coenen passed him.

While Hunter Lawrence attempted to cut into Jett Lawrence’s lead, he crashed with only three laps to go. He was passed by Coenen.

Jett Lawrence placed first, Coenen second and Hunter Lawrence third.

In the second moto, Jett Lawrence once again claimed the hole shot, with Hunter Lawrence and Plessinger racing in second and third. Coenen quickly passed Webb, Plessinger and Hunter to move into second. Hunter Lawrence crashed, falling to seventh as Deegan moved to fifth.

As Deegan made the pass for fourth, Hunter Lawrence slotted into fifth place. Deegan and Hunter both passed Plessinger, but were still far behind Jett and Coenen.

Soon, Hunter Lawrence passed Deegan, but Deegan passed him back, extending his lead over Hunter.

Jett Lawrence placed first, Coenen second and Deegan third.
